Visual Content Creator in Brussels
What kind of photographer am I?
While the term "Photographer" describes my profession well, I don't like introducing myself this way because I feel my personality doesn't align with the stereotype of those in the photography field — people who love drawing attention, asserting themselves, and believing their artistic vision is the center of the universe.
Naturally calm and discreet, I feel far removed from this mindset. Based on the feedback I've received from my clients, this discretion is highly appreciated and a strength!
More than that, nowadays so many inexperienced people call themselves "Photographer" or even "Professional Photographer", rendering these terms almost meaningless!
So, when I describe my work, I prefer saying "Photo Service Provider" or more broadly, Visual Content Creator, as it highlights the "profession & service" aspect without any pretension of excellence!
☷ Bringing projects to life ☷
“Visual Communication” is at the heart of my work: I serve clients who need specific visual content to develop their marketing strategies, primarily online.
While this may sound "cold and dull," in reality, it's quite the opposite!
A creative process is full of life, drive, desire to achieve, build together, connect, share visions, emotions, discover artistic fibers, and take pride in the completed work! The core of this creative process is human connection and sensitivity.
Listening to a client’s wishes, analyzing, and then realizing their photography or video project is a fascinating journey, carried out with genuine passion and joy!
The Meaning of My Work as a Photographer
One might wonder if it really makes sense to work for clients who, for the most part, are active in recreational, playful, and "entertainment" fields.
I agree, the purpose of a bricklayer's job, building the walls of a house is more intuitively clear
In fact, you need to take the time to look more closely at my visual creation work, because behind every photo on my website, I could tell you a story, the story of real people, with their lives, their sensitivity, their projects, and often a head full of dreams!
From the moment you genuinely take an interest in people and their projects, the "for whom" of their project, and the "why" of their project, you gain a much better understanding of their dynamics and the purpose of their project, and ultimately, the meaning of the photo or video project they want to achieve!
Going Beyond Judgement
Taking an interest in projects means understanding the people behind the visual production requests. At that moment, you put aside clichés, labels, and other judgments you might have at first glance.
For me, this involvement is essential because it allows the client to see that I have moved beyond judgment, and that we will be able to carry out their project effectively, with a healthy mindset, free from judgment in either direction.
Of course, this is verbalized minimally. Understanding each other in subtle ways, through a few phrases or questions, is also an art
When everyone has moved beyond judgment, the work becomes fluid, light, and enjoyable, because mental barriers have disappeared. Each person simply takes their place in the realization of the photo or video project and gives their all to make it an artistic and commercial success!
Challenges are the driving force of life!
Photo or video requests from some clients are sometimes unique, and fulfilling them is a challenge!
External technical constraints can also greatly complicate the task!
☵ Pushing boundaries ☵
Photography is often a challenge!
Luckily, I love taking on challenges, as I am sporty and mentally resilient
The codes of visual communication are constantly changing, forcing us to question our expertise and skills every day.
In the world of photography, nothing is ever permanently mastered. This is why it is necessary to give 100% for every project, while also innovating and continuously questioning ourselves.
I find these challenges fascinating, and they push me in my daily work to dedicate all my energy to fulfilling the projects of clients who place their trust in me!
The Artistic Touch, Please
In photography, there’s what we might call the "essential basics": capturing a properly framed photo, with suitable lighting, focusing on the subject, a coherent background, etc.
But you'll agree with me that you need "more" to create an aesthetic and captivating photo!
There is no precise formula to achieve this "more." It's a question of technique, which each photographer improves throughout his or her career through field experience.
I enjoy enhancing my Photo and Video work by seeking out that artistic touch, even if simple, which adds an extra dimension to the photo!
Whenever I get the opportunity, I experiment with new ideas: original angles, special compositions, more creative lighting...
This curiosity and innovation often lead to delightful aesthetic discoveries, much to the joy of my clients
Additionally, for me, these are small moments of joy that become good memories! It's an inner satisfaction that nourishes me!
Taking the time
These small artistic quests often require a bit more time. On location, time is often one of the main constraints, especially when renting spaces for photoshoots...
However, in my view, "taking the time to do things well" always adds real aesthetic and qualitative value to Photos & Videos! Time should be seen as an investment in the effectiveness of the client’s visual communication.
I am motivated by the pursuit of excellence and attention to detail, but of course, I understand clients who prefer quickly executed work. It’s their project, so naturally, they decide
See you soon, maybe?
It’s certainly uncommon to introduce oneself through a written piece, but I think it’s useful to show that behind the “commercial showcase” aspect of my website, there is a specific state of mind and human sensitivity.
I hope this resonates with you! Perhaps we even share some traits of sensitivity?
In any case, I hope to welcome you and bring your Photo & Video project to life soon!
See you very soon
